A new assault weapons ban?

Obama tonight virtually called for a new assault weapons ban for the first time during his presidency. Obama said that weapons designed for soldiers don?t belong on the streets, which is a reference to military style firearms that are now sold in gun stores and gun shows across America. The ban on assault weapons expired in 2004. Romney is opposed to an assault weapons ban. President Obama also talked about Romney?s attempts to court the National Rifle Association in his stances against gun control.
