Nicki Minaj refuses to apologize to New York radio station ? and more from the world of pop music

?Legit rap beef or thin skin? By now you might have heard that Nicki Minaj bailed on a Sunday night concert appearance at the very last minute. But it wasn?t any old concert ? it was Summer Jam, the annual hip-hop festival sponsored by New York?s Hot 97. Turns out, Minaj canceled after Hot 97?s Peter Rosenberg (who DJed at WMUC in College Park during his college days), said Minaj?s single ?Starships? wasn?t ?real hip-hop.? Lil Wayne, Minaj?s label boss, was insulted and pulled the plug on her headlining performance, leaving fans in the lurch. On Monday night, Minaj called in to the radio station for an hour-long conversation with Hot 97?s Funkmaster Flex in which neither side really offered an apology. The Star-Ledger has a handy recap.
