My green 1995 Volvo station wagon was not a great car. The power steering gave out on Interstate 81 once. Twice, I had to replace the air conditioning system, an impossibly involved procedure that required removing the dashboard, steering wheel and air bag. And the car was in the shop so often for repairs that my neighbor across the street shook his head in disbelief every time I brought it home from the mechanic.
