Mexican norteno singer, 2 others shot dead in attack by gunmen outside home in Sinaloa state

CULIACAN, Mexico ? Prosecutors in the Mexican state of Sinaloa say a norteno singer has been shot dead, joining a list of murdered musicians famous for chronicling the cartel lifestyle in folk songs.

The state Attorney General?s Office says Diego Rivas was killed in Culiacan, the state capital.

Prosecutors say Rivas was singing and drinking with friends early Sunday outside a house when gunmen arrived and started shooting. Rivas and two others died and three people were wounded.
