Cuban leaders have long despised the country?s dissidents, but have almost never mentioned them by name or engaged with them in any way.

But within hours of signing up for Twitter, the daughter of Cuban President Ra�l Castro, Mariela, found herself in a heated debate with Cuba?s prominent dissident blogger, Yoani S�nchez. S�nchez regularly criticizes the Cuban government for the lack of freedoms in the country on her blog, Generation Y.
