Written with Johns Hopkins professor Michael Mandelbaum, ?That Used to be Us? is the kind of wake-up call the nation needs. We seemed to have hit the snooze button when President Obama called on us to awaken to our ?Sputnik moment? last year. As the authors write, ?People have sort of gotten used to it.?
